I would rather watch crude bootlegs than those damn special editions. Plenty of 70's films and earlier look ok on DVD. CGI looks crude and fake to me too, so I would rather deal with the original versions.

**** the Special Editions!!! Give me the originals or give me nothing, ********!...
I am all for the Special Editions, but I wuld want that Han fiasco taken care of.
He is a nice guy at heart, but a scoundrel never-the-less. What is a wasted green alien here and there going to do to the universe?
I did like the additional scenes and the expanded effects, with the removal of the artifacts. This doesn't mean that I enjoyed the originals any less - I think I have every version ever released on VHS
original 3
THX fullscreen
THX widescreen
THX SE fullscreen
THX SE widescreen
and I think there is another in there that I have, just can't remember which ones they are.
Then have the WS THX SE on DVD from a copy down from the Laserdisk. Unfortunately the sound on those didn't come across in teh 5.1 as it sould have and I can only play them on Simulated Surround, so having them in true 5.1 glory is something to look forward to!
